Commentary: GO!
During our two nights at Huntington Beach State Park, we packed in as many of the activities it offers as time allowed. The expansive beach enchanted us with its soft, white sand and gentle surf. Watching our dog, Sonya, meet the ocean for the first time and fall in love with it tickled us no end. While exploring the marsh side, we spotted an alligator, wood storks and roseate spoonbills.
Highlights:
Huntington Beach State Park offers much to explore. The expansive, dog-friendly beach is great for long walks, sunbathing and swimming. Salt marshes teem with birdlife. The Huntington Beach Education Center shares the story of the coastal environment through interactive nature exhibits and displays.
