Hikes in Banff National Park's Sunshine Meadows trek through subalpine and alpine landscapes. The terrain varies from meadows and bogs dappled with wildflowers, to cool forests, to windswept rocky terrain rippled with frost heaves. Awesome views abound, among them Mount Temple and other glaciated peaks, Monarch Ramparts, Simpson River, and shimmering Rock Isle, Larix and Grizzly Lakes.

Kootenay National Park and Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park, which are also part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site, are viewable from this vantage point.
