For a bird's-eye view of Bow Valley, ride up the side of Sulphur Mountain to 7,486 feet (2,281 meters) above sea level on the Banff Gondola). A panorama unfolds that includes the town, Banff Springs Hotel, the Bow River winding through the valley, and Lake Minnewanka in the distance — plus glorious mountain peaks! A boardwalk leads to the observatory built in 1903. You may even spot bighorn sheep.
