Hiking the alpine trails of Sunshine Meadows unveils top-of-the-world vistas. Another beautiful and awe-inspiring view is at your feet if you stop and take a close look. Tiny wildflowers hug the tundra — pink mountain heather, yellow glacier lilies, Western spring beauties, yellow cinquefoil. Miniature red blossoms dapple the tufts of kitten tails no larger than your little finger.
Warning: The shuttle bus ride to the hiking staging area is bumpy, jarring and dusty. Bear with the discomfort — this Banff National Park guided hike is well worth it.
