Banff National Park is Canada's premier park. After hot springs were discovered by railway workers in the 1880s, a reserve was established on the northern slopes of Sulphur Mountain to protect them. Vacationers delighted in bathing in the thermal waters of the cave and basin pools until the mid-1990s. Today, the location is beautifully preserved by the Cave and Basin National Historic Site of Canada. We highly recommend touring the cave, pools and bathhouses.
