On our travels as a photographer/writer team, we — David and Rose Muenker — are enthralled time and again by the rich legacy of the World Heritage Sites. These treasures chronicle humankind in different times and places, and showcase natural wonders.
All of them merit protection and preservation. Several are endangered. We want to help people young and old learn about them.
Through One World Heritage and The World Heritage Pointer (a website for children), we hope to increase awareness and appreciation of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, thereby fostering support of their preservation and conservation for future generations.
Here on One World Heritage, you'll find:
- Happenings: News about the sites and updates on our travels.
- Featured World Heritage Sites: Illustrated articles about sites we have personally visited, including photo tips, personal reflections and a synopsis of the site's universal value.
- World Heritage Links: Websites with in-depth information about the World Heritage Sites and related subjects.
- Related Products: Handcrafted note cards and prints of sites photographed by David Muenker. Ten percent of every sale will be donated to UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
- World Heritage Pointer Information: In this website, young readers join a dog named Sonya on intriguing visits at World Heritage Sites. Kids enjoy games, puzzles and contests, too.
Subscription to the World Heritage Pointer e-zine is free.
